I went to my doctor yesterday. After a long time in the outer office, my name was finally called. When I got into the examining room, the nurse pointed to the scale and said, “I need to get your weight today.”
I immediately replied, “One hour and 5 minutes.”

ONE-LINERS: THE PROCRASTINATOR’S CREED
Are you a procrastinator? You’re not alone. There are so many of us we even have a creed.
1. I believe that if anything is worth doing, it would have been done already.
2. I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.
3. I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the possibility for new technologies, astounding discoveries, and a reprieve from my obligations.
4. I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable, regardless of the amount of time given.
5. I shall never forget that the probability of a miracle, though infinitesimally small, is not exactly zero.
6. If at first I don’t succeed, there is always next year.
7. I shall always decide not to decide, unless of course I decide to change my mind.
8. I shall always begin, start, initiate, take the first step, and/or write the first word, when I get around to it.
9. I will never put off until tomorrow what I can forget about forever.
10. I will become a member of the ancient Order of Two- Headed Turtles (the Procrastinator’s Society) if they ever get it organized.

Q: How does a home schooler change a light bulb?
A: First, mom checks out three books at the library on electricity, then the kids make models of light bulbs, read a biography of Thomas Edison and do a skit based on his life. Next, everyone studies the history of lighting methods, wrapping up with dipping their own candles. Next, everyone takes a trip to the store where they compare types of light bulbs as well as prices and figure out how much change they’ll get if they buy two bulbs for $1.99 and pay with a five-dollar bill. On the way home, a discussion develops over the history of money and also Abraham Lincoln, as his picture is on the five-dollar bill. Finally, after building a homemade ladder out of branches dragged from the woods, the light bulb is installed. And there is light.

Golden Oldie…
Little Bobby was spending the weekend with his grandmother after a particularly trying week in kindergarten.
His grandmother decided to take him to the park on Saturday morning. It had been snowing all night and everything was beautiful.
His grandmother remarked, “Doesn’t it look like an artist painted this scenery? Did you know God painted this just for you?”
Bobby said, “Yes, God did it and he did it left handed.”
This confused his grandmother a bit, and she asked him “What makes you say God did this with his left hand?”
“Well,” said Bobby, “we learned at Sunday School last week that Jesus sits on God’s right hand.”

~To this day China remains the largest world producer of peaches, particularly the true wild peaches. The second largest producer is Italy.
~Peaches are a good source of vitamins A, B and C. A medium peach contains only 37 calories.
~How to ripe fast the peaches? You can ripen peaches by placing them in a brown paper bag for two to three days. Sliced, fresh peaches should be tossed in lemon or lime juice to prevent browning.
~Looking for a good moisturizer? Well, the juice from peaches makes a wonderful moisturizer, and it can be found in many brands of cosmetics.
~Like the plum and the apricot, the peach is a member of the rose family (Rosaceae), distinguished by its velvety skin. It is classified as a drupe, a fruit with a hard stone.
~The peach can have yellow or white flesh, which is sweeter and less acidic than its more traditional golden counterpart.
~”The Peach State”: That would be the nickname for Georgia.
~Peaches are best from June to the end of August.
